The SMART Board Bootcamp

This is an intensive, interactive and high energy 2 day Bootcamp on Corporate Governance to help to understand the implications of becoming a board member or to help you to be able to perform your role more effectively. It will also focus on the attributes that make a SMART Board.

This is a highly collaborative and stimulating programme. Participants will be solving real life case studies, discussing the implications of the latest articles and videos on Corporate Governance.

The Smart Board Bootcamp is targeted at:

  • Chairs and non-executive directors of organisations
  • CEOs, COOs, CFOs and other executives such as company secretaries and compliance officers
  • Family members and controlling shareholders of boards of family companies
  • Directors of government and non-profit organisations and agencies
  • Partners of professional firms who advise on corporate governance.
  • Individuals with aspirations of becoming a Board member.

About the Facilitator

David W. Duffy, FCA is the founding director of Prospectus Management Consultants, established in 1991. A graduate of Trinity College, Dublin with a Bachelor of Business Studies degree, he also holds a MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.

David has extensive experience in advising on many aspects of corporate governance in the public, private and non-profit sectors. He has reviewed the performance of over 60 Boards. He is a former board member of Ireland Funds, a global Irish philanthropic organisation, a council member of Dublin Chamber of Commerce and a former President of both the institute of Management Consultants and Advisors and the Trinity Business Alumni.

David has also been chair or a non-executive director of a number of commercial, trade, voluntary and sporting organisations. His publications include – “A Practical Guide to Corporate Governance” published by Chartered Accountants Ireland, “The Chair Person’s guide – Practical guidelines for Leaders” and “A Practical guide to being an Effective Director” to be published by Chartered Accountants Ireland later this year.
