In today’s world there are a lot of fears and misconceptions with regard to disability –  Equality & Disability Training offers the opportunity for participants to explore disability related issues, share experiences and ask questions and dispel the myths.  

 
This highly interactive and activity based course provides each participant with practical insights to the needs of people with disabilities both in the workplace and society at large. The course provides a full range of practical ideas to develop key skills and techniques in participants, which encourages mindset change and empowers individuals to enable them to become disability equality confident and competent.

After this course participants will have: 
  • An insight and understanding of disability and people with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of disability in the context of Equality Legislation
  • Gained a better understanding of the Medical and Social Models of disability
  • An understanding and insight to barriers faced by people with disabilities and some solutions.
  • Recognition of the myths and stereotypes commonly held regarding people with disabilities. 
  • Knowledge and learning of effective communication techniques to utilise when working and providing services to people with disabilities.
