My Entrepreneur’s Experience: Marlon Franco, Enter Ireland

“…it was a powerful tool to develop my business knowledge and skills in a practical way.”

As a new entrepreneur, I am aware of the importance of being prepared to face all the next challenges. Starting a new business is one thing, but running and keeping it going is another. Clear ideas, positive thoughts and a right understanding of our personal skills and behaviours can help us establish what we really want to do and how far we want to go. That’s why I decided to participate in the Entrepreneur Programme leading to an Advanced Certificate in  Management Practice through the Springboard Programme and provided by Irish Times Training and Ulster University.

Having successfully completed the Programme, I can say that it was a powerful tool to develop my business knowledge and skills in a practical way. Through the presentations, literature reviews and workshops I could better understand  my  greatest strengths,  weaknesses, opportunities and threats in order to enhance my leadership style, communication skills and emotional intelligence. I realised the significant role that leaders and managers play in any organisation and how the combined implementation of excellent leadership, management and entrepreneurship may impact positively in the growth and sustainability of the business. Another thing that I found very useful in the course was the encouragement given by the instructors to increase our confidence as entrepreneurs and develop our business plans in an effective way.

Overall, I can say it was such an amazing experience! I came in contact with enthusiastic people, motivating instructors, and helpful staff in a building with pleasant atmosphere and comfortable facilities. I would highly recommend this Entrepreneur Programme to anyone who wants to develop a business idea or who is starting his/her own business.
