2024 Mini MBA opens for applications

The 2024 Mini-MBA is open for applications

PUBLISHED 25 JANUARY, 2024

An intensive programme to drive your career

If you're looking to become a more effective manager and learn essential business and management skills, this accredited Executive Management and Leadership Skills programme will give you the best platform to build from.

The Mini-MBA programme was created by the Irish Times Training team in association with Ulster University Business School in response to requests we received from employers for an intensive programme for time-poor managers who want to broaden their career horizons and deepen their management and leadership skills.

The industry-led Level 9 programme has been designed to help practising managers to gain a better understanding and appreciation of their role and effectiveness within their organisation, and is delivered through a combination of live online sessions and in-person days in our Dublin city-centre training suites.

Programme Modules

  • Leadership & Managing People
  • Innovation & Entrepreneurship
  • Accounting & Finance
  • Strategy & Change

Powerful skills for real-life situations

Participants on this programme will benefit in a number of ways, including building their confidence and creating new networks through their learning peers and academic staff. Highlights of the programme include:

  • Understanding how to lead through strategic management and apply it to real-life situations
  • Effectively leading and developing your team using your knowledge, skills and experience
  • Sharpening your decision-making and communication skills
  • Getting a deeper understanding of how organisations operate and how external influences and stakeholders affect them
  • Learning how to harness the latest technology in your decision-making

Assessment and the path forward

Assessment will be via a portfolio of work where you will be required to relate the theory taught during the programme to your own organisation. You will also be required to complete a 3,000 word assignment on an issue of strategic importance to your organisation. After the successful completion of this portfolio, you will be awarded an Ulster University Mini MBA accreditation which can be used as a pathway to achieving a full MBA in the future.

The Application process

We understand that many managers have a wealth of experience but perhaps not an academic qualification. Don't let this deter you from applying for the Mini MBA - evidence of prior learning, professional experience, skills and the ability to complete the programme will be taken into consideration for all applicants.

Applications for the programme will be open until 22nd April 2024, and all applicants will be assessed by the academic team to ensure that this programme is a good match for them.

You can apply today by contacting Kate, whose details appear below. Click here for more programme details and to download the full programme brochure.
